痣

あざ【痣】

a birthmark; (a) skin discoloration; a macula 《pl. -lae, ～s》; 〔打った跡〕 a bruise; (目のまわりの) a black eye.

●青いあざ a mole. [⇒あおあざ]

・赤いあざ a strawberry mark. [⇒あかあざ]

・紫色のあざ a purple birthmark.

●黙って兄のグラブを使ったらバットであざができるほどひどく打たれた. When I used my brother's baseball glove without asking him he beat me with his bat black and blue [until I was covered in [with] bruises] with his bat.

・僕は殴られて[つねられて]あざができたところを母に見せた. I showed my mother the bruises where I had been beaten [pinched].

・彼女は右頬にあざがあって化粧で隠している. She has a birthmark [mole] on her right cheek which she conceals with cosmetics.

・10 日たってやっとあざが消えた. After ten days the discoloration [bruise] finally disappeared.

●きのう机の角にぶつけたところがあざになった. I developed [got] a bruise where I hit myself on the corner of the desk yesterday.

●頬にあざのある男 a man with a birthmark on his cheek.

●弟は学校で殴られて目のまわりにあざを作って帰ってきた. My brother got beaten up at school and came home with a black eye.

●坂を転げ落ちて私は全身あざだらけになった. I fell down the slope and [After falling down the slope I] was black and blue all over.

・マリちゃん, このあざはどうしたの? 転んだの? ぶたれたの? How did you get this bruise [these bruises], Mari? Did you fall down or did somebody hit you?
